Jan 12th
Posted by Matthew.Erazo in Episodes

It’s the return of the 8-Bit Bar! A new format and segments! Action! Exclamation points! (Producer’s Note: With three times the piss jokes!) The crew returns from a three week long hiatus ready to fuck your ear drums and not have the decency to call you in the morning. Jason recounts his octopi fighting exploits to us and Wallace and Tony suggest we all compare our dicks. Business as usual.
We also have a contest running for two copies of Modern Warfare 2, one on PC and the other on PS3. To enter, send an email to mail@8bitbar.com with your best war face. I want your most epic and battle ready face you can make. Make sure you hold a piece of paper that says “8-Bit Bar” with you in the picture to confirm its you. We also want to know what “Oscar Mike” and “FUBAR” mean, and what version of the game you want. Deadline is January 30, 2010

Side B of Ep.5 sees us discussing our favorite gaming moments. We all had a lot to gush about and many of our moments overlapped each other. We remember games like the Metal Gear Solid series, Super Metroid, Commodore 64 gaming and many more.
If you have any of your favorite moments we missed or want to wax nostalgic with the rest of us, comment below or email 8bitbar@gmail.com.

We partake in our RetroActive Challenge this week and it’s a miracle one of us wasn’t killed by another this week. Chulip proves to be Jason’s hell, Ashleigh laments about Godai’s bad game design, Matt gets lost in Deadly Towers, and Wallace finds recreational drug use appealing after Wally Bear and the No! Gang. Suffice to say our remakes of the games where more heavy handed punishments.
Games discussed this week: I Made A Game With Zombies In It, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, Champions Online, Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazzard, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Silent Hill: Homecoming, Ninjatown
We also have a new show format. What we’re playing and RetroActive will compose Side A and our main topic will be Side B now.
Next week’s RetroActive will be Time Lord for the NES, and for Ep007 we are taking listener suggestions. So the first person to comment or email us with the retro game they want played and talked about will be picked. If you have any comments or questions, comment below or email us at 8bitbar@gmail.com

It’s memory lane time for the 8-Bit Bar crew! We explain why 2D gaming will always be better than fancy 3D graphics and remember our favorite 2D game experiences. Along the way, Jason and Matt state their hatred for Tim and Eric: Awesome Show Great Job!, Ashleigh provides some anime suggestions, and Wallace compares great movies to crappy games.
Games discussed this week: Persona 4, Aion, Pokemon Platinum, Fossil Fighters, Shin Megami Tensei Devil Survivor, Megaten Online, Professor Layton and the Curious Village, ‘Splosion Man, Miku Project Diva, Wind Jammers, Shadow Complex, Baroque, The Bouncer, Izuna 2, Sky Gunner, Champions Online, Shatter, Thousand Arms, Street Fighter 2, Turtles in Time: Reshelled.
We discussed River City Ransom on RetroActive and read our very first comment. Thanks Mike C!
